Career Expo

Why Web Design – What would attract 8th & 9th graders? Collaborate to come up with a presentation for me to give on January 30th!

  1. Show them all the cool things you can do with it and how you can make a career out of it straight out of high school by getting adobe certified.

  2. Show Flash items such as games. Or dhtml script like mouse trails and screen warping codes. Maybe show a well devloped site with soem nice actions-transitions etc.

  3. show them some of the cool websites.show them some of the dhtml. talk to them about what the will learn but don't talk too much it will it seem boring.show some of the students websites that you think are good. show them exmaples of flash video or images.

  4. Show them that it's fun, you have the will to become creative, and its really intersting. Career wise, you will be able to work for yourself, by yourself. You dont have to have a specific certificate or diploma to become a web designer, its just a matter of getting the basics and learning/understanding the world of the web.

  5. show them examples of good web sites that the class has made, dhtml, different animation scripts, and different flash items.

  7. You can show Dhtml and show all the cool things you can do with web design. We do flash that can be applied to web design. You can show the animated gifs. animation applied to a web site makes it more intresting. show them one of the students web site to show them what your students have learned.

  8. You should show them all the really cool things you can do with web designing. Tell them how they can make a career out of what they are learning in school, for when they get out. Show them flash and dhtml things.

Start off by showing them a poorly made website, then show a really good website (as an introduction). then show different types of websites ex: FLASH and DHTML. then walk them through the basic steps on creating a website... and show them a basic senerio of dream weaver. and show them the cool DHTML things (on that website). but that is pretty much all of that.

  10. Keep it visually appealing and not too wordy. Show examples of work we do, such as the local business site we created last year. And of course to keep them entertained show DHTML examples and what not.
